About

I am a Ph.D. student in Princeton University’s doctoral program in Religion focusing on twentieth century Japanese religions.  While most of my published work to date has been on the subject of religion and media (specifically, religious aspects of manga and anime production and consumption), my broader research interests lie in the ongoing process of defining religion, law, the state, and the religious subject in twentieth century Japan.

My website is the best place to find the most recent news about my current and ongoing research projects:

An up-to-date list of publications and presentations can be found on the website or in my CV at left.
