About

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Religion in America program in Princeton University's Religion Department, focusing on twentieth-century and contemporary American Jews. I am interested in the ethnographic study of contemporary Judaism, the visual and material cultures of American religions, and the role of space and place in the formation of religious communities. My dissertation is a material culture examination of nostalgia in American Jewish communities, including studies of Jewish genealogists, the use of historic synagogues as museums, children's books and dolls, and American Jewish foodways.

I received a B.A. in Jewish Studies and an M.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Virginia.
